CTA conducts private and semi-private lessons each week day afternoon, Monday to Friday. Other times are available by arrangement. With private coaching, the student receives the undivided attention of the coach, identifying problem areas such as footwork, approaching the ball correctly, early preparation, swing path and of course stroke correction. The student receives instant analysis, the cause of any faults and then the correction. The speed of this analysis and correction is crucial to the accelerated development of the player receiving private coaching.
Most coaching is conducted on courts located at the South Camden Tennis Club complex, in the Ron Dine Reserve, off McCrae Drive, South Camden, right next to the Tigers Soccer oval.
When you join Camden Tennis Academy for coaching lessons, you can be assured that the Coach that is teaching you or your child is a fully qualified and accredited Professional Tennis Coach.
Private coaching is suitable for all players from beginners to the elite. With private coaching in the early and habit forming time of young or new players, bad habits are identified earlier and corrected, leading to a more trouble free transition from beginner, to intermediate, to elite player. As most coaches are aware it is far better NOT to allow bad habits to form, rather than attempt to break them when firmly established.
Players that are undergoing private (1 on 1) coaching, can reasonably expect to improve at a faster rate than those participating in group lessons. For competition players this would be evident in their on court performance. Performance players will be identified by the coaches and invited to participate in our Junior Development Squads conducted on Monday and Tuesday nights, 5.30pm to 7pm at the South Camden Tennis Club complex. These Squads are very reasonably priced at $15 for the 1½ hours. Only students coached by CTA are selected to participate in these junior development training squads.
Although the coach can deal with on court strategies, specific patterns of play and a range of other related issues, there is no substitute for being on court, playing the game. As part of performance players development it is imperative that they train with and against other performance players to bring out the best of their ability. These Development Squads are designed to do just that.
